Inside the Heart of Operations
As we come to the end of the year, I’ve had the chance to reflect on what makes this team and this company so exceptional. Looking back on 2025, it’s clear that our strength is people who genuinely care about their work and the people they serve. That mindset, supported by continuous learning and development, keeps our staff confident, capable, and ready for whatever comes next.
On a personal level, Condor has given me the opportunity to grow, to lead, and to make a meaningful impact. I’ve met incredible people, developed skills I’m proud of, and felt supported every step of the way.
Proud of what we’ve built: Quality is the standard, but safety is our foundation. Protecting the properties we serve, the communities we support, and the people who wear the Condor uniform remains our top priority. This past year, we strengthened our procedures knowing that every improvement, no matter how small, creates a safer environment for everyone.
Looking ahead to 2026: As we step into the new year with the same commitment to quality, safety, and people, I’m confident we’ll continue to achieve more together. Thank you to our team for your hard work, loyalty, and passion. I am proud to stand beside you.

2025 Core Training Programs and Statistics
In 2025, Condor continued to strengthen its training framework through a combination of newly introduced programs and refreshed core training. These initiatives were designed to reinforce preparedness, enhance communication, and ensure teams remain equipped to respond effectively in evolving security environments.
Key statistics: 175+ training sessions delivered. 360 certified in Verbal Judo and customer service. 550 certified in Level 1 training. 468 participants in ongoing training programs. 50 participants in FireSafe training. 64 participants in Level 2 training. 19 certified in Level 3 advanced training. 50 participants in site supervision training.
1. FireSafe Training: FireSafe is a comprehensive fire safety and emergency response program focused on prevention, preparedness, and effective response for fire-related incidents. It is led by active firefighters and a Fire Captain certified as a Master Training Facilitator. Training includes Ontario Fire Code, live fire extinguisher training, and supervised fire drills. This training is also open to property managers and law enforcement partners.
2. Standard First Aid & Level C CPR Training: This essential training equips team members with life-saving skills and the confidence to take responsible action during medical emergencies. Certification in Standard First Aid and Level C CPR is also a prerequisite for Condor’s Level 2 Intermediate Security Training. It is available for all Condor staff and property managers.
3. Verbal Judo Training: Verbal Judo is a proven communication system designed to de-escalate conflict through empathy, clarity, and strategic dialogue. Originally developed for law enforcement, Condor has adopted this system for private security where communication is often the most effective tool for resolution and relationship-building. Verbal Judo is widely used across police departments in North America. Condor Security is the first private security company in Canada authorized to instruct and certify its own staff in this system. It is available to Condor employees.
4. Tactical Awareness Training: Tactical Awareness focuses on identifying early “threat cues,” which are subtle indicators of aggression that often go unnoticed by untrained individuals. This critical skill enhances personal safety, situational control, and proactive decision-making. The course teaches personnel how to recognize these cues and apply appropriate strategies while maintaining safety as the top priority. Training is available exclusively to Condor staff and select law enforcement partners.

Condor Training Levels
Condor’s tiered training structure ensures every team member develops progressively, building from foundational knowledge to advanced leadership and crisis management.
Level 1: Pre-Qualifying Training, mandatory entry-level training for all prospective Condor employees. It confirms Ontario licensing requirements are met, evaluates readiness, professionalism, and fit with Condor standards, and introduces Condor’s approach to security, conduct, and site operations.
Level 2: Intermediate Training & Incident Response, an internal program available exclusively to Condor staff. It builds advanced operational knowledge and response capability. It covers emergency response, First Aid & CPR, and physical security. The program introduces threat and risk assessments and prepares personnel for more complex, real-world security scenarios.
Level 3: Leadership & Crisis Management, advanced training for experienced Condor personnel. It requires completion of Level 2, Verbal Judo, and a minimum amount of service experience. The focus is on leadership, decision-making, and crisis response under pressure. It includes unarmed defensive tactics, tactical handcuffing, and Use of Force laws. Competency-based certification is earned through demonstrated performance.
Looking ahead to 2026: Condor Security is excited to introduce a newly renovated, state-of-the-art training facility equipped with advanced technology and innovative simulation tools. This facility will provide employees with realistic, effective, and engaging training experiences to further strengthen hands-on programs.

Employee of the Year 2025: Leslie Obule
Condor Security is proud to recognize Leslie Obule as Employee of the Year. In just over a year with the organization, Leslie has demonstrated exceptional professionalism, strong leadership, and a deep commitment to both residents and the Condor standard.
Leading a high-performing site: As Concierge Supervisor at 50 Wellesley, Leslie takes pride in maintaining a safe, high-functioning environment. Above all, Leslie values providing residents with peace of mind through consistent presence, reliability, and attention to detail.
Training that built confidence: Leslie credits training as the foundation of success, with special recognition given to the mentorship of Eric Junior, whose demanding and motivating approach helped unlock potential and build confidence.
Turning a negative into a 5-star outcome: After noticing a negative Google review from a resident, Leslie chose to take ownership rather than overlook it. By reviewing the situation, learning more about the resident, and waiting for the right opportunity to address it directly, Leslie remained focused on resolution. When the opportunity arose, Leslie introduced the issue, offered a sincere apology, listened intently, and ensured the resident felt heard and respected. A few weeks later, the review was updated to a 5-star rating, a clear reflection of initiative, professionalism, and genuine care.
Team-first approach: Leslie emphasizes that success is never achieved alone and believes strongly in winning as a team. Special thanks are extended to the team at 50 Wellesley, including DK, Parts, Sajan, and Manpreeet, for their collaboration and support.
Meaningful recognition: Leslie shared that the recognition was both unexpected and deeply meaningful. Leslie also expressed gratitude to the staff who helped make the moment possible, as well as appreciation for ongoing support from leadership, including Ben, Patricia Cortorreal, and Dale. Congratulations, Leslie Obule. Thank you for representing the Condor standard with professionalism, leadership, and pride.

In the press: Toronto Star article about shoplifting (2025)
In a Toronto Star feature on shoplifting, Condor Security guard Earl Augustin shared insight into the realities of frontline security work. Augustin described how most incidents, such as a recent low-value theft at Markham Mall, are handled through calm judgment, particularly when working alone.
Condor’s approach prioritizes de-escalation over confrontation. CEO Benjamin Tabesh emphasized that guards are trained to rely on verbal communication, conflict resolution, and “verbal judo,” a technique focused on empathy and tactical language, to reduce risk and avoid physical escalation. This underscores the importance of proper training in modern security environments.
Why training matters: As highlighted in the article, many frontline security incidents such as the low-value theft at Markham Mall should be resolved through calm judgment rather than force. At Condor Security, we emphasize a training-first philosophy, equipping our staff with proven de-escalation techniques and Verbal Judo, a communication method that uses empathy, respect, and strategic language to defuse tension.
The outcome: By prioritizing communication over physical escalation, our training creates safer environments for everyone involved. It reduces the likelihood of confrontation, strengthens public trust, and ensures our security professionals can respond confidently, responsibly, and effectively in real-world situations.
